Artist's BiographyKen Evans has established a national reputation through his original works and is now offering Limited Edition prints of many of his most sought after pieces. Born on the coast of Stamford , Ct, his early forays into the visual arts were charcoal drawings of ships and the sea. While quite young he sailed a great deal, crewed many races and eventually became a “Wharf Rat” at Luder's where many America 's cup yachts were built and moored. He studied mechanical engineering and technical drawing then practiced law for many years, all the while continuing his sailing, painting and love of the sea and marine art history. He studied painting with Kiril Doron a former professor of painting at the University of Moscow and then with John Stobart among others. At present he continues to instruct marine painting workshops in Mystic, Ct and is affiliated with galleries in Newport, RI; Mystic, Ct; Charleston, SC; Naples, Fl; Carmel, Ca; and at his home port on Cape Cod. He is a member of the American Society of Marine Artists. His paintings are part of many private and corporate collections and were most recently exhibited in an ASMA sponsored show at the Cape Museum of Art's major summer exhibition “ Masters of the Sea .”
